Training | SEED Program for Indigenous Youth (March 22-25, 2021; Register by March 17, 2021)
o The University of Toronto’s Faculty of Kinesiology & Physical Education is pleased to share the FREE virtual SEED Program for Indigenous Youth (Strength, Education, and Empowerment Days). SEED is one week of free virtual learning from the University of Toronto to empower Indigenous youth towards post-secondary education. It is offered virtually across five days to best take into account everyone’s safety during the Covid-19 pandemic and runs daily March 22 - 26, from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm. The outcomes of SEED remain the same to the University of Toronto’s long standing in-person program Soar Indigenous Youth Gathering - to provide Indigenous high school students the chance to engage with university life at the University of Toronto, participate in different recreational and Indigenous focused learning, all while meeting other students and community contacts.

Indigenous Undergraduate Summer Research Scholars Program (May 3 – June 25, 2021; Register by March 5, 2021)
o The McMaster Indigenous Research Institute is offering the 7th iteration of the Indigenous Undergraduate Summer Research Scholar Program. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the program will be delivered in a virtual format for the second year. It is open to Indigenous undergraduate students studying at any Canadian university.
o Recruitment of students from across Canada is underway with an application deadline of March 5th. The program will take place May 3 – June 25, 2021. Students receive a $5K stipend and will be supervised by a McMaster faculty member while participating in weekly workshops.

Toolkit | Maad'ookiing Mshkiki - Sharing Medicine: First Nations, Inuit and Métis Perspectives and Knowledge Sharing on COVID-19 Vaccines
o It is a community-led initiative designed to provide timely, accurate, trauma-informed, and culturally relevant information about medical concepts related to available COVID-19 vaccinations, with the explicit aim of empowering informed consent and decision making of First Nations, Inuit and Métis living in urban and related homelands. The resources recognize and respect Indigenous worldviews and cultural practices while upholding Indigenous knowledge translation principles and standards. Webinar | COVID-19 & Compassion Fatigue: Self Care for Health Care Providers – A Presentation of the Northwestern Ontario Palliative Care Education Community of Practice (March 11 from 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm EST)
o COVID fatigue meet compassion fatigue. It is almost a year into the pandemic and health care providers are, understandably, tired. During these extraordinary times, the difficult work of providing health care has become even more challenging. This session aims to support health care providers personally and professionally by providing strategies and resources to cope with compassion fatigue, grief and bereavement, and other stressors imposed by COVID-19. Participants will engage in a self-care activity as part of the session.
