Background: Auduzhe Mino Nesewinong (Place of Healthy Breathing) is an evolving
Indigenous Interprofessional Primary Care Team that began through a partnership with Na-Me- Res
(Native Men’s Residence), Call Auntie Clinic, and Well Living House, as a response to the
disparities affecting the First Nations, Inuit and Metis (FNIM) population during the COVID-19
pandemic. Auduzhe has been advancing to include vaccination, preventative, episodic and primary
care to aim to meet the voiced needs of the community. Over the past 3 years, Auduzhe has been at
the forefront of developing and delivering culturally safe access to urgent health and social
supports, testing, contract tracing, case management and access to treatment with a small team and
even smaller budget. Auduzhe focuses on disease prevention, vaccines across the lifespan, health
promotion, wholistic care, and data sovereignty, through outreach partnerships, home visits, and
on-site healing.
MAIN FUNCTION: The Medical Secretary is someone who has a deep understanding of client centered
care by prioritizing the patients’ needs, and is intended to develop and provide administrative
non-clinical support to our patients and the on-site team at Auduzhe Mino Nesewinong and to build
trust and rapport with patients and the team members for creating a welcoming, supportive and
culturally safe space for First Nations, Inuit, and Metis (FNIM) and their household members.
Working under the guidance and direction of the Clinic Coordinator, the Director of Operations and the Medical Director, the Medical Administrative Assistant will be responsible for activities involved in the following:
- Create a warm and inviting reception for community members, visitors, and families in person, on the telephone and by email in a professional non-judgemental manner
- Collaborate as part of the interprofessional staff team for the best interest of the clients, their families and the community.
- Coordinate with other organizations to ensure smooth flow of patient care and clinic operations.
- Maintain an efficient computerized client encounter system by inputting an updating information into Oscar, and/or other EMRs, in an efficient and timely manner.
- Aid and support the patients and the clinical team by processing and following up on referrals to specialists, laboratory and procedural appointments, and pharmacist inquires as part of the interprofessional team.
- Ensure proper notification of on-site and external medical appointments and medical correspondence to patients as part of the interprofessional team.
- Maintain client confidentiality and privacy at all times as per Na-Me-Res/Auduzhe protocols and PHIPA Standards.
- Collect and enter client and other data and necessary information for reports and site operations.
- Perform other related duties as defined by the Clinic Coordinator, the Director of Operations and the Medical Director.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a Medical Administrative Diploma or acceptable equivalent combination of education and lived experience.
- 3-5 years knowledge/experience working in an Indigenous interprofessional health team or similar.
- Demonstrated and exceptional ability to engage and build relationships with diversity of FNIM agencies in a respectful and strength-based manner.
- Demonstrated understanding of two-spirit, gender diverse, and queer Indigenous identities
- Proficiency in EMR and strong computer skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all duties and tasks
- Strong ability to work independently by taking initiatives in collaboration with other members of a busy care-centered team
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner and flexibility to adapt to changing workload
- Experience with trauma-informed care; able to communicate with clients in a professional, empathetic, and culturally safe manner with fundamental understanding of anti-Indigenous discrimination and oppression

It is the mission of Tungasuvvingat Inuit (TI) to provide Inuit-specific programs that contribute to the health and wellbeing of Inuit, and to encourage and support similar programs for Inuit across the country. With over 30 years of highly successful experience in crafting the design, development, and delivery of a wide range of effective, client-centered services, TI continues to deliver quality programs and services that directly benefit our growing urban Inuit population.
The Health Systems Navigator’s primary focus will be to assist clients that request support with planning and addressing areas of concern while providing community support and referrals for patients and their families. This can include housing, finance, transportation, support groups, education, engagement with clients by providing community connections and attending events and other means as may be identified.
TI’s Health Systems Navigator has the following primary objectives:
- Supporting Inuit patients and families through their experience in the health care system while in Toronto accessing patient services
- Connecting patients and their families to community cultural services and supports
- Implementing opportunities for enhanced cultural competencies in collaboration with stakeholders
Responsibilities:
- Provide referrals for professional bodies for culturally safe training when dealing with Inuit clientele.
- Helping clients achieve autonomy, and coordinating and providing safe, timely services to clients.
- Client advocacy, building and maintaining community partnerships and sitting on appropriate committees (health – family physicians, dental, NIHB)
- Building relationships and referral pathways with health institutions such as mental health institutions, hospitals, long-term treatment centres, rehabilitation centres, Government of Nunavut, etc., to better serve Inuit
- Co-facilitate health promotion activities with community partners such as cancer screening and information navigate specialized health care systems
- Determine, through intake and plan of care, the needs of clients and families
- Provide clients with resources to assist in culturally appropriate services, such as pamphlets, web lists, phone numbers and transportation to events and services (bus tickets)
- Use tools to evaluate the programs and services and identify barriers
- Create and provide activities for children, youth, adults, and families which will be appropriate for those dealing with health issues
- Ensure the program meets the mental, physical, emotional, and cultural needs of clients to receive successful treatment and follow-up care
- Participate in the development of services, events, and planning of Tungasuvvingat Inuit-specific activities and overall work
- Submit regular data, reports and evaluations to the supervisor as required
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a strong Inuit cultural knowledge. Ability to complete intake, plan of care and evaluation forms with clients. Facilitation, interpersonal and communication skills, caring, supportive, motivated and able to work independently, a sensitivity to people dealing with illness and stressful situations. Knowledge of the health care system and general health issues faced by Inuit. Knowledge of services, supports and mapping of community resources.
Completion of Undergraduate Degree in Post Secondary education in human services, health services or a related discipline is required.
Three years’ experience is required in relevant community support experience is required. Two years' experience working with children, youth, families and non-Inuit organizations and health professionals is preferred.
Proficient use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, video-conferencing platforms and electronic records management applications and a clear Vulnerable Sector Check with results acceptable to TI is required. Availability to work evenings and weekends is required. Ability to speak Inuktitut is preferred. A valid drivers license is required.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Director of Operations (Community Services and Infrastructure) provides high-level strategic leadership for the effective and efficient management of the social services, health services, public works, and education programs of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation (MCFN). WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Post-secondary degree in Public Administration, Business Management, Social Services, Health Administration, or a related field with 7 years of senior management experience in public sector or First Nations administration; or Diploma in a related field with 10 years of relevant management experience.
- Experience in infrastructure and capital project management is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience in developing legislation, regulation, and policy, preferably within a First Nations organization.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting complex information clearly both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated strategic and critical thinking, with the ability to manage teams and prioritize competing objectives.

- Performs park maintenance such as litter control, winter duties such as snow removal by hand and/or with equipment, ice removal, and washroom cleaning.
- Loads materials, plants, etc. and delivers, as required, to various locations. Operates various types of motor vehicles and mechanized grounds, garden and turf maintenance equipment, etc.
- Responds to horticultural questions from public.
- May be required to perform landscaping functions such as sodding and constructing retaining walls etc. May be required to direct other staff. • Keeps equipment and tools clean and in good working order.
Key Qualifications:
Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to:
- Diploma or certificate in horticulture or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Considerable experience as a practicing gardener.
- Must possess and be able to maintain a valid Province of Ontario Class "G" Driver's License Class and must qualify for the City's equipment operating permits and requirements.
- Possession of or the ability to obtain within 6 months an Ontario Landscape Exterminator's License
- May require Structural Greenhouse/interior Plant Exterminator License
You must also have:
- A good knowledge of plant materials and the ability to propagate and grow a wide variety of plants for the beautification of park areas.
- Ability to arrange, plant and maintain annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees according to the best horticultural methods and to achieve an attractive appearance.
- Ability to identify insect pests, diseases and weeds and to treat them in the most effective manner.
- Ability to make the most effective use of fertilizers and an understanding of the water requirements of plants.
- Must be familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the regulations that apply to this work.
- Must be physically capable of performing required duties.
- Ability to deal courteously with the public.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- May be required to work shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Supervisor of Mental Health, the School Mental Health Worker is responsible for providing support to the students and staff of Lloyd S. King Elementary School and the Mississauga of the Credit First Nation (MCFN) students of Hagersville Secondary School.
Education and Experience
- Degree in Social Work with 2 years of counselling with children and youth
- Or Diploma in Social Work or Child and Youth Worker with 5 years of counselling experience with children and youth
- Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers/Social Service Workers or other College of Psychotherapists
Knowledge
- Be knowledgeable about Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation’s culture and social structure
- Be familiar with traditional Indigenous approaches to healing
- Have extensive knowledge of therapeutic intervention and of the range of evidence-based treatment modalities that are employed in prevention
- Working knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act
- Solid background in computers with specific knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Skills/Abilities
- To work cooperatively with other staff and management
- Relate effectively to community members
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Other Requirements
- Class “G” Drivers licence
- Must have a satisfactory result from a Criminal Record Check including a vulnerable sector
check. - Certification in First Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain by the end of the probationary period
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends
