1. Immunization Update - Ontario Launches Mobile Vaccine Units in Hot Spot Workplaces

On May 7, mobile units began offering vaccinations in Toronto, York and Peel at select businesses that have employees who cannot work from home and have a history or risk of outbreaks. Toronto Public Health encourages workplaces to contact the province at covid19vaccinetaskforce@ontario.ca to learn more about setting up a workplace vaccination clinic.

2. Immunization Education Event – COVID 19 Vaccines and Youth Virtual Town  Hall

Brought to you by the South Asian Health Network and multiple partners including the Rexdale Community Health Centre, this virtual Town Hall will focus on Youth and COVID 19 Vaccines, with the following panelists:

  • Dr. Nisha Thampi, who is a pediatric Infectious Diseases physician at CHEO
  • Dr. Vinita Dubey from Toronto Public Health.

3. Funding Opportunity - Climate Action Grant

The Climate Action Fund supports community-led cluster projects, activities and events that directly or indirectly reduce the harmful emissions that contribute to climate change. Program goals include:

  • Increase awareness and engagement on climate action at the local level.
  • Strengthen the efforts and capacity of local community agencies, grassroots groups, and resident leaders.
  • Activate resources for local COVID-19 recovery efforts, with a focus on engaging vulnerable residents, specifically youth, isolated seniors and diverse linguistic communities in low-income areas.
  • Foster collaboration and cooperation between various sectors.

5. Small Business Resource - B Corp 101 Workshop: Learning to Measure What Matters

B Corps represent a movement of entrepreneurs who are proud of their companies’ positive impact, whether it’s improving the livelihoods of their workers, strengthening their community ties, or revolutionizing current green practices! The common thread linking Certified B Corporations®, such as Toronto-based Propeller Coffee Co. and Gladstone Hotel, is that they define success as more than money – and they measure it using the B Corp assessment. This workshop is intended for purpose driven entrepreneurs or employees of purpose driven businesses who are interested in managing their impact through the B Impact Assessment. Each attendee will work in the B Impact Assessment as part of the workshop so bring a laptop or tablet suitable for this portion of the workshop. It will be ideal for actively profitable businesses that have been running and operating for a minimum of 2 years.

6. Small Business Resource - T2 Corporation Income Tax Return Seminar Presented by Canada Revenue Agency

The presentation is geared towards incorporated businesses and will provide participants with the basic principles and resources needed to navigate the tax system.

During the seminar, the Liaison Officers will:

•Demonstrate how to use financial benchmarks for relevant industries

•Provide information on various tools and services offered by the CRA

•Explain general bookkeeping concepts and best practices
