The City of Toronto has now posted the Open Door Affordable Rental Housing Program 2020 Call for Applications here: https://www.toronto.ca/community-people/community-partners/affordable-housing-partners/open-door-affordable-housing-program/

Private and non-profit organizations interested in building new affordable housing are encouraged to apply.

The 2020 Open Door application is similar to that of previous years, but there are some important changes, including:

  • The minimum affordability period is now 40 years;
  • A minimum of 50% of the total buildable gross floor area must now be affordable housing; and,
  • Only electronic submissions (no printed hard-copies) will be accepted by the City. Details on the electronic submission process are in the application.

There will be a virtual information session at 10.30 a.m. on October 15, 2020 where you will be able to ask questions about the Open Door Call for Applications. Details on how to join the session will be posted on the website above.

The Call for Applications will close on November 17th.
